                         FAITH AND FANATICISM

Dear Friends, It’s nice to get the feedback through email but I would appreciate if you can leave your comments on the site also, last week I have started a series “Food for Soul”, I was planning to continue with the same but yesterday one very interesting thing happened and I thought better to talk about this first as this is very important in today’s social environment so therefore I would like to discuss this first. Yesterday one of my friend had the birthday celebration for his daughter and for that purpose he had invited Hare Krishna Hare Rama Group for chanting or bhajans. The session was really nice and satisfying as far as the inner satisfaction is concerned after that we had some discussions and preaching session where one of them did through GITA (The Holy Book). During that he told that there is only one way to get rid of all your problems and miseries just to chant Hare Krishna…. Mantra and you can see the difference in your life and there is no other way, if you are following than it means you are wasting your time and except Krishna all other are Demi Gods.

During that I had some serious discussion with that person, as I believe as far as chanting of Hare Krishna mantra is there I have not a single percent doubt about this but if you will say that this is the only way out that I will not agree as one very serious thing is there that there is a very fine line between FAITH AND FANATICISM and you will never know when you cross the line and reached on the other side.

As far as Faith is concerned, as I have touched little bit in my last blog, it is the base of any religious and spiritual journey you undertake, and it is your faith which can change your destiny too, faith is the ultimate when it comes to devotion. For example, like child is always confident that whatever he will do his parents are always there to take care and will save him if any danger is there, it is the faith which gives you courage to accept the happening around you and with you, which may not be the one which you always desire or wanted as the faith is “Ishwar yat Karoti Shobhnam Karoti”, it means whatever God will do it is always good for us as he is the only one who knows what is good for us. Same way when you believe in GOD and have faith in GOD you know he is always there to take care of you, you don’t have to worry about anything.

Now comes the million $$ question what kind of faith, it is the one which we practice most of the time half heartedly where mind overtake the heart we pretend to ourselves and sometime to other also that we believe in GOD but when it comes to test we believe in ourselves and so many time we take wrong decision just to satisfy our materialistic requirements or better to say Greed. That time most of us say yes we believe but it doesn’t mean that we should behave like a fool or irrational after all it is about money or may be something valuable. Therefore take inspiration from Meera, Bhakht Prahalad and there are number of peoples around us you can find, if you get the chance try to read Autobiography of a Yogi by Paramahansa Yogananda which may enlighten you. Like in Ramayana there is one place when sati died and took rebirth as parvati (Tulsi Ramayan Doha 65 to 80) Naradmuni told that Parvatiji will marry Shivji and She has to do Tapa for that, during that tapa time to test Sapt rishi went to Parvatiji and told her that do you believe Narad words he himself never married how come he can guide you for a better match when it comes to marriage you should stop this Tapa and We will try to get you the best possible match. Parvatiji replied that if I disbelieve my Guru (Naradji) than I have no right to live in this world. So please don’t tell me anything I will not do so even God will come and say the same thing than also I will not disbelieve my Guru. That should be the faith. I think I can write and write and it will not finish but important part is faith is ultimate but you should not become fanatic in that process if you do so you loose the beauty and enlightenment of the knowledge you discovered or learned.

Fanaticism is very dangerous thing as it will misguide you in some other direction and you will never realize that you have changed your path from faith to Fanaticism. As when you are in enlighten position hate will disappear from your heart and mind and the only thing which left inside you is LOVE the true love, love for your God, love for your surrounding, love for your universe. And when you cross the fine line you will start feeling that what you doing is right and other person is doing the wrong thing, you try to correct them and try to force them that follow my path which is the only way to get the enlightenment and in that whole course you will loose the real beauty of the God and involve in some other kind of activity which will take your on some other direction. I remember IQBAL lines “Mazhab Nahi Sikhata Aapas mai Bair Karna”, as we don’t have to search the GOD he is always there inside us but irony is we always search for him outside. We all belongs to the same Param-atma and we all have the same ansh Atma so if we hate someone or do bad to someone in-directly we are hurting the GOD.

Therefore have faith, have deep faith which will not be broken by the reasoning of others or by any other means but don’t become Fanatic. Rest next week…till than keep smiling.

updated on 03/02/2013:
After your feedback I would like to add one more thing  that we are not here to talk about any particular religion or way, being a Hindu I have mentioned few examples from my holy books as I have very limited knowledge of other religious text and my believe is whatever way you choose or any religion you follow important is to have faith in that and no religion in this world teach you to hate anyone as once you have the true knowledge you will always love all the creations of GOD.

Food for the Soul - Part 1

Even though I am attracted to spirituality and involved in daily prayers but even though I am always confused, daily I ask number of questions to myself and try to find out the answers.

When it comes to Tulsi Ramayan, there is one thing which talks about Navdha Bhakti while going though all the types I am always attracted to the only one which is simplest form which says you can do in any form important is it is from your heart. like in case of Meera it is from the bottom of her heart, even when her brother in law offered poison by saying it is Prasad (prasadam), there was no second thought and she had that and nothing happened to her as GOD is there to take care, and the second one in Tulsi Ramayan when Bhilni offered the berries to Ram but to avoid the wrong ones she tasted first and than offered to Ram, these are two examples to explain my point.

Second thing which sometimes I feel is that just to lit the lamp in front of GOD and recite the mantras and Aarti is it what we should do to please the GOD or to satisfy our spiritual hunger or need. As I think your full day itself is a place where you should perform prayers, it is not just the morning or evening where you should do like a daily routine and than you forget the values which you should follow in your day to day routine, I feel in our day to day activity also we should implement the prayer concept I mean in our day to day activity when we should take decision either financial or non financial we should think from our Heart not just Mind as mind may be selfish but heart is always guide you to the right direction, in a way that when we finish our day we can say that today I have performed my real prayer for that day, and I feel than definitely GOD will be happy and definitely answer our prayer and we will have peace in our mind which everybody searching in this material world. Try to share joy and happiness with others, make people happy around you, try to understand the sorrow of other and if you can do something for them than do something it will give you great pleasure.

I firmly believe in “Give to the world the best you have and the best will come back to you.” In fact what you get is a RESULT of what you give. Same way if you give worst to other it will come back to you also. But the problem is that we are too busy in our life that we are ready to go through our suffering but we are not ready to understand the simple principles of life. Try to do that and see the difference share joy, love and happiness with others and see the difference around you. I think enough for the day next blog next Saturday till than ….keep smiling.

Five Regrets of the Dying - By Bronnie Ware

Five Regrets of the Dying - By Bronnie Ware

For many years I worked in palliative care. My patients were those who had gone home to die. Some incredibly special times were shared. I was with them for the last three to twelve weeks of their lives.People grow a lot when they are faced with their own mortality. I learned never to underestimate someones capacity for growth. Some changes were phenomenal. Each experienced a variety of emotions, such as denial, fear, anger, remorse, more denial and eventually acceptance.

Every single patient found their peace before they departed though... every one of them.

When questioned about any regrets they had or anything they would do differently, common themes surfaced again and again. Here are the most common five:

1) I wish I did had the courage to live a life true to myself, not
the life other expected of me.

This was the most common regret of all. When people realise that their life is almost over and look back clearly on it, it is easy to see how many dreams have gone unfulfilled. Most people have had not honoured even a half of their dreams and had to die knowing that it was due to choices they had made, or not made.
It is very important to try and honour at least some of your dreams along the way. From the moment that you lose your health, it is too late. Health brings a freedom very few realise, until they no longer have it.

2) I wish I didn't work so hard.

This came from every male patient that I nursed. They missed their childrens youth and their partner's companionship. Women also spoke of this regret. But as most were from an older generation, many of the female patients had not been breadwinners. All of the men I nursed deeply regretted spending so much of their lives on the treadmill of a work existence.
By simplifying your lifestyle and making conscious choices along the way, it is possible to not need the income that you think you do. And by creating more space in your life, you become happier and more open to new opportunities, ones more suited to your new lifestyle.

3) I wish I did had the courage to express my feelings.

Many people suppressed their feelings in order to keep peace with others. As a result, they settled for a mediocre existence and never became who they were truly capable of becoming. Many developed illnesses relating to the bitterness and resentment they carried as a result.
We cannot control the reactions of others. However, although people may initially react when you change the way you are by speaking honestly, in the end it raises the relationship to a whole new and healthier level. Either that or it releases the unhealthy relationship from your life. Either way, you win.

4) I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends.

Often they would not truly realise the full benefits of old friends until their dying weeks and it was not always possible to track them down. Many had become so caught up in their own lives that they had let golden friendships slip by over the years. There were many deep regrets about not giving friendships the time and effort that they deserved.

Everyone misses their friends when they are dying.
It is common for anyone in a busy lifestyle to let friendships slip. But when you are faced with your approaching death, the physical details of life fall away. People do want to get their financial affairs in order if possible. But it is not money or status that holds the true importance for them. They want to get things in order more for the benefit of those they love. Usually though, they are too ill and weary to ever manage this task. It is all comes down to love and relationships in the end. That is all that remains in the final weeks, love and relationships.

5) I wish that I had let myself be happier.

This is a surprisingly common one. Many did not realise until the end that happiness is a choice. They had stayed stuck in old patterns and habits. The so-called comfort of familiarity overflowed into their emotions, as well as their physical lives. Fear of change had them pretending to others, and to their selves, that they were content. When deep within, they longed to laugh properly and have silliness in their life again.

When you are on your death-bed, what others think of you is a long way from your mind. How wonderful to be able to let go and smile again, long before you are dying. Life is a choice.

It is YOUR life.
Choose consciously, choose wisely, choose honestly.

Choose happiness.

After a long time I strongly feel about something and I can’t stop myself to write about it. As an Indian most of the time we all discuss in public and debate with our family and friends but when it comes to take any action we will simply say “Yaar chalta hai”, it’s not just you, I am also a part of this corrupt system, in past so many times it’s happened that I had two choices either I should pay bribe or ready to accept the delays in my work but as a common man I preferred the first one and paid the bribe like others.

I still remember say around 25 year back, the corruption was there but still if people talk about those corrupt people they refer the person with hate and disrespect. But after 25 years things are changed so many times when I visited India in last few years, I had found that people say with a different kind of feeling if you are doing your job with honesty people treat you like a fool, and the other person like a smart boy….”he knows how to earn money”, it means the problem is not started just know it’s having a deep roots back to our independence. The only thing which was changed is that before people were having worry if people will come to know than what they feel but now it is open game no one cares about these things for them it is all about money...total materialism. It Mean our Old generations did not give the right SANSKARS (teachings) to their children they were also interested in all those things but they forget one thing It will bite back, therefore you will find now a days, corruptions at all level not just limited to Money but in our homes also parents are crying that their children are not ready to take care of them, they just interested in their own life, self centered, etc. but did anyone think over it ,that why it happened.
Now come to the burning Topic a guy from a small village from Maharashtra, who was a truck driver in Indian army, a follower of Mahatma Gandhi who in past successfully did movements for so many social causes finally decide to take a final war against corruption who is 73 year old diabetic patient why he is so much interested for that, he is a bachelor living in a Temple using his pension for charitable causes no hidden agenda, this is all for the future of this nation, for the younger generation.

Few days back we all Indian were united talking about World cup, if I am not mistaken all over India irrespective of religion and caste everyone prayed for the Indian team, and after the win we all celebrated that with full hear ( I was one of them), even state governments showered crores of rupees on them, but did anybody thought does this money belongs to these politicians, it is a hard earned money of common people paid as a tax to the government and how these politician can shower these money on these players, if they played for national pride than they should not accept that or if they played for just money that no problem they have a right. But if they really believe in Nationalism or nation pride than don’t you think anyone of them at least come out in open and say against the corruption as they all are worried if they utter any word than ICCI and BCCI kick them out, their career will finish, I have seen a person on TV MBA and was working for an MNC but have a courage to resign and join the movement, and what these celebrities are doing nothing in that case our young actors are better at least they shows their supports, even one of the industrialist told that we all business people should support the movement. This is the high time we Indian should do something for the corruption, it is like a DEMAK (white ants) to our system, this is a war of do or die, now or never, I strongly feel that we all should at least support this movement, We don’t need IPL, we need these kind of movement to safeguard our future generation and India.

We should think over it if we can unite for a cricket match don’t you think this is the time we should unite for Indian and our younger generation future……………….THINK AGAIN

ARE YOU A EGG, CARROT OR A CUP OF COFFEE

A carrot, an egg, and a cup of coffee...
You will never look at a cup of coffee the same way again.

A young woman went to her mother and told her about her life and how things were so hard for her. She did not know how she was going to make it and wanted to give up. She was tired of fighting and struggling. It seemed as one problem was solved, a new one arose.

Her mother took her to the kitchen. She filled three pots with water and placed each on a high fire. Soon the pots came to boil. In the first she placed carrots, in the second she placed eggs, and in the last she placed ground coffee beans. She let them sit and boil; without saying a word.

In about twenty minutes she turned off the burners. She fished the carrots out and placed them in a bowl. She pulled the eggs out and placed them in a bowl. Then she ladled the coffee out and placed it in a bowl. Turning to her daughter, she asked, ' Tell me what you see.'

'Carrots, Eggs, and Coffee,' she replied.

Her mother brought her closer and asked her to feel the carrots. She did and noted that they were soft. The mother then asked the daughter to take an egg and break it. After pulling off the shell, she observed the hard boiled egg

Finally, the mother asked the daughter to sip the coffee. The daughter smiled as she tasted its rich aroma. The daughter then asked, 'What does it mean, mother?'

Her mother explained that each of these objects had faced the same adversity: boiling water. Each reacted differently. The carrot went in strong, hard, and unrelenting.. However, after being subjected to the boiling water, it softened and became weak. The egg had been fragile. Its thin outer shell had protected its liquid interior, but after sitting through the boiling water, its inside became hardened. The ground coffee beans were unique, however. After they were in the boiling water, they had changed the water.

'Which are you?' she asked her daughter. 'When adversity knocks on your door, how do you respond? Are you a carrot, an egg or a coffee bean?

Think of this: Which am I? Am I the carrot that seems strong, but with pain and adversity do I wilt and become soft and lose my strength?

Am I the egg that starts with a malleable heart, but changes with the heat? Did I have a fluid spirit, but after a death, a breakup, a financial hardship or some other trial, have I become hardened and stiff? Does my shell look the same, but on the inside am I bitter and tough with a stiff spirit and hardened heart?

Or am I like the coffee bean? The bean actually changes the hot water, the very circumstance that brings the pain. When the water gets hot, it releases the fragrance and flavor. If you are like the bean, when things are at their worst, you get better and change the situation around you. When the hour is the darkest and trials are their greatest do you elevate yourself to another level? How do you handle adversity? Are you a carrot, an egg or a coffee bean?

May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human and enough hope to make you happy.

The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything that comes along their way. The brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past; you can't go forward in life until you let go of your past failures and heartaches.

When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling.

Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying.

May we all be COFFEE!!!!!!!

Health Care Is Self Care

I believe that “Health Care Is Self Care”. When you become too much dependant on habit-forming medicines & 'one-disease, one-organ' experts, then passing diseases become permanent and not only you mess up your life but that of your family too. All your savings get over in the long drawn out treatment. Health remains elusive, peace of mind too disappears and penury becomes your companion, unless you are a very rich person with medical insurance.

Before coming here I had a dilemma before me as to what to say on this Schizophrenia day. Because, when you celebrate a disease, you start a live-in relationship with that disease. This is disease-centred approach and is not conducive to health. Today, let us concentrate briefly on: “FROM ILLNESS TO WELLNESS”.

We, in Natural Medicine, work on three cardinal principles:-

(a) Healing is within.

(b) There is an inner environment.

(c) Treatment should not be worse than the disease.

The Body has a vital force and an inbuilt healing mechanism. I will give you an example of this. When you fly non-stop from here to New York or Washington 16 to 18 hours, there is a jet lag. The circadian clock will, however, adjust itself, if you have abstained from taking alcohol, or overeating at odd hours during flight, or have taken enough fruit juices and water and periodic stretch and enough sleep.

We all are becoming more and more aware of the external environment like the oppressive heat -- global warming, depletion of oxygen, polluted water, stench etc. You should also realise that there is an inner environment. 90% diseases are abdomen related. Keep the innards clean and you will be fine.

Treatment should not be worse than the disease. For example in schizophrenia all that you hear is anti psychotics, anti depressants, ECT, seclusion, straitjacket - all part of inhuman treatment.

NAMI website puts Autism as one of the psychological illnesses. According to me it is not. It is due to mercury in vaccines and too many fertilisers entering your system through your food chain which makes the brain go haywire. The black effect of the so-called green revolution.

In psychology / psychiatry there is no solution. In traditional and natural medicine there is no problem that cannot be solved. Psychiatry was started in the KGB andCIA labs as experiments to control people – and there may be good psychiatrist like YA Matcheswalla who receives an Award today, but I stand by my comment based on my 32 years of experience as Natural healer, that psychiatry is worse than witchcraft.

If you wish to enjoy 100 years of disease-free life then follow my Ten Health Commandments :-

1.. Eat twice a day only, preferably vegetarian.

2.. Drink 8 glasses of water to wash out toxins from your bodies.

3.. Exercise for minimum 15 minutes daily.

4.. Meditate twice daily, for good mental health and stress-free life.

5.. Fast once a week to give rest to your vital organs.

6.. Do not smoke, or take drugs, or drink alcohol.

7.. Do not gamble with your life or cheat anyone.

8.. Sleep well for 6 to 8 hours. The best time is 10 pm to 6 am.

9. Go on smiling come what may.

LIFE IS A DANCE FLOOR, GOD IS A DJ. GO ON DANCING.
